Philosophy Coffee in the East (of Pretoria) with Dr Jacques Faul…
You are cordially invited to a discussion evening on Thursday 23 May 2024 @ PHOBIANS Club, 378 Queen’s Crescent, Lynnwood, Pretoria, 18h00 for 18h30.
The discussion evening is an initiative of PhilCofEast – Philosophy Coffee in the East (of Pretoria)
Dr Jacques Faul, CEO of Titans Cricket will be in discussion with Willie Snyman about Crisis Management in Sport, the theme of his recently published book. (The book will be available at the meeting and as crisis management is a much needed skill in the current South Africa, the discussion will not be confined to management in sport alone).
– Jacques grew up in Klerksdorp, Northwest where he attended school.
– He was a provincial cricket player beyond his school years.
– He holds various qualifications including a PhD, MBA and LLM. (His qualifications, memberships and achievements are much too long for this page.)
– He started his administrative career in 2003 when he was appointed CEO of Northwest Cricket.
– He is some sort of turnaround specialist and twice, in 2012 and 2020 he had to step in as acting CEO at CricketSA. According to Rapport, it is described in his book how he had to handle a “state capture” grab at CSA. I am sure he will straight bat to questions regarding that.
– In 2013 he was appointed as CEO of Titans Cricket. Recent research confirmed that the Titans is the most successful Cricket Franchise globally, measured on the basis of trophies won over the last two decades.
– Jacques and his family live in Pretoria.
PhilCofEast, a community initiative, aims to establish a discussion platform for hot topical affairs with a spicy philosophical flavour. Held in the East of Pretoria but for all from everywhere. For old and young and for all orientations and cultures.
See (and hear) you there!
Come and see which interesting/eccentric philosophical characters might join us for the evening!
