The discussion evening is an initiative of PhilCofEast – Philosophy Coffee in the East (of Pretoria)
Michèle will be in discussion with Willie Snyman about the Creative process during the writing of auto fiction in Meyer’s 2022 novel, MOER.
There will be ample opportunity for questions from the audience.
MOER will also be for sale at the function at R220/copy.

Michèle Meyer néé De la Rey is oud-Engelsonnie en vryskutskrywer van Pretoria.
In 2017 wen sy die 2017 US Woordfees Kortverhaalkompetisie met haar kortverhaal, LANGSAAN. In dieselfde jaar debuteer die gelyknamige kortfilm gebaseer op dié verhaal, by die Silwerskermfees. Dit word daar genomineer vir wenner van beste kortfilm asook vir beste redigering.
Meyer se kortverhale “Diefwering”, “Vuurpyl” en “Soet” word in 2020-2022 se US Woordfees Kortverhaalbundels opgeneem. In September 2024 merk haar kortverhaal “Vasbyt” Meyer se vyfde publikasie in dié jaarlikse feesbundel. Haar kortverhaal “Dryf” word in 2019 in Die Nuwe Afrikaanse Prosaboek deur Human&Rousseau opgeneem. Haar skets “Per Pad” word in 2023 opgeneem in die bundel Hierdie Land deur Protea Boekhuis. Haar prosateks “Deur die Groot Ateljee” word in 2024 deur Queillerie opgeneem in die reisbundel Draaie, swaaie en afdwaalpaaie.
Meyer se debuutroman, MOER, word in April 2022 gepubliseer by Protea Boekhuis. Die tweede druk van MOER verskyn vyf maande later.
Meyer glo in die woord as wapen, en skryf graag selde-gehoorde dinge oop in Suid-Afrikaanse publikasies.
Sy het ’n versameling klippe en klim graag boom. Sy woon in Pretoria-Oos saam met haar eggenoot.
PhilCofEast, a community initiative, aims to establish a discussion platform for hot topical affairs with a spicy philosophical flavour. Held in the East of Pretoria but for all from everywhere. For old and young and for all orientations and cultures.
