Philosophy Coffee in the East (of Pretoria) with Prof Marius Herholdt…

You are cordially invited to a discussion evening on Thursday 24 October 2024 @ PHOBIANS Club, 378 Queen’s Crescent, Lynnwood, Pretoria, 18h00 for 18h30.

The discussion evening is an initiative of PhilCofEast – Philosophy Coffee in the East (of Pretoria)

Professor Herholdt will engage in conversation with Eugene Booyens on the topic ‘Tomorrow’s god: The value of the god symbol in the postmodern world.’

Marius has always been passionate about understanding the bigger picture, which motivated him to pursue a broad range of studies. As a result, he has earned degrees in fields such as natural sciences, theology/Biblical studies, medical sociology, and natural healthcare.

Over his 20-year career in full-time pastoral ministry, he has served as a lecturer in theology at Berea Theological Seminary and acted as a study leader and researcher for postgraduate programs at UNISA and North-West University. Now semi-retired, he continues to serve as president of the ASCHP (a professional body for counsellors) and as a visiting professor in natural healthcare at Gideon Robert University.

Marius is also the recipient of the Gold Medal for Alternative Medicine (Indian Board of Alternative Medicine) and the author of numerous books on wellness and counselling. Marius, along with his wife Liezl and their family, lives on a farm in Dinokeng, where he enjoys writing, painting, and gardening in his free time.

PhilCofEast, a community initiative, aims to establish a discussion platform for hot topical affairs with a spicy philosophical flavour. Held in the East of Pretoria but for all from everywhere. For old and young and for all orientations and cultures.

See (and hear) you there!

Come and see which interesting/eccentric philosophical characters might join us for the evening!

No cost or cover charge – food and drinks for own account.
